My niece Yasmina has the same hair I do; long, thick, and painful to detangle. My sister had tried every brush and lotion on the market. When she handed me one to try, I kept the box aside. I already had my system, brushing with conditioner in the shower, holding the length before each stroke…

Then one evening I forgot my brush and after a shower tried it on a whim, before passing it on to someone who’d use it more.

Twenty seconds. Long, dry, highlight-damaged hair. Zero pain. Something I had genuinely never experienced in my life.

I’ve even always brushed my own hair before salon visits specifically to avoid the pain. That evening changed that.
